Sunday’s season opener for the Oakland Raiders is one where everything that could have went wrong happened for the Silver and Black in a blowout loss that stunned the Raider Nation. From turnovers, defensive miscues to a long list of injuries it was one of the worst season openers in recent memory for the Raiders and it is really hard to argue that anything that came out of Week 1 was a positive for the team.

Dominated up until garbage time where they scored two second-half touchdowns, the Raiders left their season opener at the Coliseum as a team that failed to live up to the optimism that the offseason brought to Oakland. A new coaching staff, and a new look roster not giving fans what they expected after waiting for many months for the first game of the 2015 season to see a better team than in the past under former head coach Dennis Allen.

Instead fans were greeted to a team that looked awfully familiar to the losing teams of the past decade, a team that looked outmatched in every facet of the game even before the likes of Derek Carr and Nate Allen left the game in the first half. The Bengals having a field day on the road in a spot where it was expected that the Raiders would at the very least be competitive in opening the season at home.

During a week where negativity and lowered expectations have filled much of the takes on the Raiders Week 1 performance, the Just Blog Baby staff writers grades for Sunday’s game keep the theme intact as there is simply not much positive to take away from the loss to the Bengals. With that being said, here is what the JBB staff has to say about one of the worst season opener performances in franchise history.
