Oakland Raiders Mock Draft: JBB Staff Edition
By Chase Ruttig
Round 1
Chase Ruttig: Robert Nkemdiche, Defensive Tackle, Ole Miss
Why I Like This Pick: While I feel that the Raiders will have their eyes on Ezekiel Elliott and Myles Jack, I find Robert Nkemdiche as the most realistic of Oakland’s potential options to cash in on a Top 10 talent that falls to 14th on Thursday. Where Jack is a special talent who has an injury concern, Nkemdiche is a special talent who has massive character concerns from his time with Ole Miss that includes falling out of a hotel window in an incident that involved synthetic marijuana.
Still, Nkemdiche is the most talented interior defensive lineman in the draft and is the type of athletic gamechanger needed to make the Raiders front seven one of the best in the league. Letting Nkemdiche work on the inside with Dan Williams and the elite edge rushers the Raiders have on their roster would be a perfect situation for the Ole Miss star who would be lucky to go somewhere where he can be an instant contributor to a playoff run.
