Oakland Raiders: 5 players to watch vs. Denver Broncos
By John Buhler
Simply put, the Raiders need a big game out of Carr. He has shown that he can beat bad to good teams, but can he rise to the occasion against a worthy adversary on the road in Denver? Carr had easily his worst game of the season versus Washington.
His accuracy went in the toilet, the decision-making was poor and he just looked out of sorts the whole game. It didn’t help that the offensive line couldn’t block the Washington pass rush and center Rodney Hudson kept quick-snapping the ball on a not-ready Carr.
At least Carr owned the loss for his teammates. It wasn’t all his fault, but that’s what a franchise quarterback does: take the blame so the team can move on. Though the Denver defense is daunting, Carr knows what type of gauntlet he’ll be walking into at Mile High.
After getting embarrassed on national television, look for Carr to bounce back and play his best game of the season. While Kirk Cousins played very well against Oakland on Sunday, Carr should be able to best Trevor Siemian on the road. Carr needs to play an A game for Oakland to beat Denver in Week 4.
