Oakland Raiders: 4 players who could be traded next
Karl Joseph
Karl Joseph was the other name dropped on the trade block along with Amari Cooper. He’ll surely be dealt by the trade deadline. The only question is to whom? There won’t be many teams bidding for Joseph and the offer will likely be no higher than a 6th round pick.
Anything higher would be good value for the Raiders and would be a risk for any team if they make that a reality. So what teams, if any, would be willing to trade for the former 2016 first round safety?
There’s only one team that comes to mind and that’s the Seattle Seahawks. Karl Joseph can play the role of Kam Chancellor since his best attribute is as a box safety. Now I’m not saying he’s anywhere close to Chancellor, just that he plays the same role.
He would be a solid addition for Seattle considering they lost Chancellor to retirement. So if you’re the Seahawks, why not take a flyer on Karl Joseph? He’s not too great at coverage, mainly because of his height, but he makes up for it with his aggressive play.
He’ll also be reuniting with Ken Norton Jr, his former defensive coordinator. His fit with the Seahawks makes so much sense that it’ll almost be shocking if they don’t trade for Joseph. It just really depends if the Seahawks are willing to even give up any of their draft picks.
I don’t really see any other team willing to trade a 6th or even a 5th to the Oakland Raiders for Joseph other than Seattle. There’s also the good chance that Gruden just lets Joseph go for nothing. You never know when it comes to Gruden.
