Andy Isabella – Wide Reciever, UMass

I promise I’ll get some defensive players soon, but this draft is prime for Oakland to get starting quality weapons for Derek Carr in the middle rounds.

Now when you think of who led the nation in receiving yards this college football season, I’m sure your mind doesn’t go to a player from UMass. But wideout Andy Isabella is the real deal and could be the security blanket for the Raiders offense. He has excellent quickness and sure hands, but his size at 5’10 180lbs will no doubt drop him down the board likely to the third round or below.

However, Isabella is the definition of a Gruden grinder, he is smart but not afraid to go over the middle and with the ball in his hands he will fight for every yard possible. Isabella got better every year in college and even when going against elite competition still showed he was a serious player.

And unlike most receiver with his physical profile, Isabella brings some pretty serious speed to the table. He is a former high school sprinter and ran 10.90 in the 100m, and I doubt he got slower in college. He will be participating in the Senior Bowl this week so every team might know who he is by next Saturday.
