Bring in talent at wide receiver

During the 2018 NFL season, the Raiders traded away star wide receiver Amari Cooper, who had been the team’s top wideout since being selected in the first round of the 2015 NFL Draft. Cooper, who netted the Raiders a first round draft pick in return, went to two Pro Bowls in his three years with the team, and was still only 24-years old at the time of the trade.

After Cooper was shipped away, the team had to go with Jordy Nelson as their top wideout, and he played well down the stretch. While he should be back with the team in 2019, the Raiders need to add depth to this position group if they are ever going to get over the hump in a very competitive AFC West division.

The Raiders have four early draft picks in 2019, and they would be wise to use at least one of them on the wide receiver position. There are also some free agent wideouts they could target, like Adam Humphries or Robby Anderson, two guys who have shown themselves to be productive in their careers. Finally, there is always Antonio Brown.
