Jared Cook, Tight End

During the past two seasons, tight end Jared Cook has led the Oakland Raiders in receiving yards, as he has been a perfect security blanket for quarterback Derek Carr. Last season, Oakland did not have much in terms of talent at the wide receiver position after Amari Cooper was traded, but Cook kept plugging, and ended up going to his first Pro Bowl.

In 2019, Cook becomes a free agent, ending his two-year run with the Raiders. He has to be one of the  team’s biggest priorities when it comes to bringing back some of their 33 pending free agents, because he fits this offense so well, and has develop an incredible rapport with Carr over the last two seasons.

Since putting on the Silver and Black, Cook has been Carr’s main target, and that has to continue if this team is going to move in the right direction. The tight end position as a whole played very well last season, but Cook has had a career re-birth during his time in with the Raiders and the team would be wise to spend the money on bringing him back for another go-around.
