Although the Raiders have signed three defensive backs this offseason, they still need help at the corner spot. Fill in Deandre Baker, one of the top corners in the draft. Baker’s allowed only 43.9% of catches to be caught throughout his career.

He also has five interceptions and 21 passes deflected in that same period.

Baker plays the ball well while it’s in the air, and although he’s only 5-foot-11, he’s a tremendous football player. By drafting Baker, the Raiders will have Gareon Conley, Darryl Worley, Nick Nelson, and Nevin Lawson to make up a really underrated secondary.

For years, the secondary has been a major issue for the Raiders, but it looks like this regime is making sure that it rounds into a strength. They play in a division with arguably the best quarterback in football in Kansas City’s Patrick Mahomes, so making sure they are loaded in the secondary is a major focus for this franchise moving forward.
