Will Marshawn Lynch be back with the Oakland Raiders in 2019?

Marshawn Lynch will reportedly only play for the Oakland Raiders, and with the injury to Isaiah Crowell, will be back for one more go-around in 2019?

The Oakland Raiders wooed Marshawn Lynch out of retirement in 2017, and he played well over the last two seasons for the team. Lynch decided to come back mainly because he was from Oakland and wanted to play for his home team.

Earlier in the offseason, it was reported that Lynch was hanging up his cleats for good, ending what could be a Hall of Fame career. However, due to recent circumstances, the Raiders may come knocking once again.

A source close to Lynch has claimed he won’t play for any other team than Oakland at the current moment. The 33-year-old veteran running back, who’s from Oakland, signed a two-year contract and rushed for just over 1,267 yards and 10 touchdowns.

Stipulations surrounded the running back after a season-ending injury after six games last season as to whether he would be re-signed or not. The drafting of Josh Jacobs could put the last nail in the coffin of that question.

Not only did they draft a very undervalued running back, but they resigned Doug Martin, who took over for Lynch last season when he got hurt. While I do not agree with this signing, it became necessary on Tuesday.

However, hope remains because their recent free agent signing was Isaiah Crowell who sustained a season-ending injury this week. Lynch would be a good veteran filler for this younger group of guys, especially Jacobs. Veteran talent among young talent can sometimes be fools gold, but in this case, Lynch can be a big help to develop a younger guy (can’t be worse than Doug Martin).

Even without Lynch, the Raiders look poised to have a great offense with the additions of Trent Brown and the Antonio Brown trade. Derrick Carr is one happy camper in Oakland this week too. The Raiders are looking like a 12-4 team again and taking on the Kansas City Chiefs for the division title. The Raiders needed many pieces on the offense this year and they wen tout and got them for Carr. Carr needs to step up and be the QB the Raiders need him to be in 2019 to take them deep into the playoffs.

2019 can’t come soon enough!
