Stock down: Luke Willson

Luke Willson was brought in from the Detroit Lions during the offseason. Willson spent his previous five years in Seattle, and now has his sights on making the final 53-man roster in Oakland. It looks to be a daunting task for Willson, with Darren Waller and fourth-round pick Foster Moreau almost guarantees to make the roster.

Jon Gruden will likely only keep three tight ends and that means there’s one spot for four guys. Willson must prove that he’s here to stay in order to solidify that final spot. However, he’s really gone unnoticed in the preseason as he hasn’t done much offensively. Against the Cardinals, Willson recorded one catch for four-yards.

Over the next couple weeks, Willson will have to make his presence known during practice and most importantly, throughout games. If not, Gruden will more than likely keep one of his other options, which include Derek Carrier, Paul Butler, and Brandon Barnes.
