Ryan Grant

After a disappointing 2018 in Indianapolis, Ryan Grant signed a one-year deal with Oakland. The veteran’s contract value is barely above the minimum and would only be a $100,000 cap hit the team cuts him, according to OverTheCap.com.

The Raiders have a good amount of depth at wide receiver, so this might be the most important preseason of Grant’s career since his rookie year.

Grant is off to a hot start as he has posted the second highest PFF grade of any Raiders receiver this preseason. Through two games, Grant has caught four out of five targets thrown his way, and all of those catches have gone for either a first down or touchdown.

In comparison, in three preseason games last year, he only caught one of four targets.

Of course preseason success doesn’t always translate to the regular season, however, for a veteran player that is trying to bounce back from a miserable season, success this time of year is mandatory. On cut-down day, Jon Gruden and the rest of the coaching staff will have a tough decision to make when it comes to Ryan Grant.
