Three Quarterbacks?

Would it really be that absurd for Jon Gruden to keep three quarterbacks on the roster? Through three games so far this preseason, could you really argue with Gruden’s logic if he did so? That reality may or may not come to fruition, but the backup quarterback battle continues to linger on, and Nathan Peterman made another strong case Thursday night.

Peterman left Winnepeg going 22 for 36, throwing for 230 yards with two touchdowns. Having completed 61 percent of his passes, Peterman finished the night with a 98.2 quarterback rating. Just as it seemed Mike Glennon had the backup job in his bag, Peterman continues to state his case.

Three quarterbacks are still in the realm of possibility, but it is likely that the backup QB battle will continue on until the end of the preseason. Whether he makes the roster or not, credit must be given when its due in the case of Peterman. After all the criticisms, he’s likely growing on some people besides Jon Gruden.
