Week 4 at Indianapolis Colts

In Week 4, the football gods were smiling on the Raiders when they ventured into Lucas Oil Stadium. The Colts were without Andrew Luck (retired), TY Hilton (quad), Malik Hooker (knee) and Darius Leonard (concussion) and the Raiders capitalized on the opportunity with the most balanced attack since Denver.

The Raiders led the entire game after a quick 14-7 start in the first quarter, the Raiders scored again in the 2nd quarter and seemingly put the game away. In the second half, the Colts attempted to bounce back and capitalize on the fact that the Raiders had switched to a conservative attack to manage the clock instead of further capitalizing on the lead and scored 14 points in the 4th quarter.

However, their comeback attempt was iced by safety Erik Harris‘ 30-yard pick six. In a game that was certainly a momentum starter, and confidence builder, it was also a game that saw the Raiders lose their defensive captain and signal caller, Vontaze Burfict after a helmet to helmet targeting penalty.

That led to an ejection and a season long suspension, the longest on field punishment that has ever been handed out by the NFL.

Final Score: Raiders 31, Colts 24
