Most Improved: Raiders offensive line

Last year, the Raiders offensive line had more holes in it than swiss cheese, so this offseason, the team focused on building the strength of the players that were retained. In addition, they brought in two of the best at their position in Richie Incognito and Trent Brown through free agency.

After securing more strength and talent on the line, the Raiders made sure they rewarded the true MVP of the team, Rodney Hudson, with a 3 -year, $34 million extension.  The offensive line that gave up 52 sacks last season currently has allowed eight sacks in four games, with seven of those sacks coincidentally coming in the two losses to Kansas City and Minnesota.

While the 8 sacks isn’t ideal, we must also look at the fact that the Raiders have been without the complete starting line all season, with Incognito missing the first two games from suspension. Gabe Jackson will be out the first five games with a knee injury and with losing backup guard Jordan Devey with a pectoral tear, the group in front of Carr has certainly done their part in 2019.
