Tahir Whitehead

Tahir Whitehead joined the Raiders’ defense last season after finalizing a three-year, $19 million contract. Since then, his performance on the field has been sub par in most aspects of the game, while struggling drastically in coverage assignments.

All season long the Raiders linebacker corps have been crushed when having to cover running backs and tight ends. With Whitehead’s insufficient coverage ability, he’s been held responsible on many occasions time-and-time again for getting beat by opposing pass catchers.

With zero guaranteed money left on his contract, Whitehead will be watched very closely in recent weeks. If his defensive breakdowns continue to burn the defense, he might not make it to Las Vegas.

Whitehead has recorded 92 tackles and 6 TFL’s, but the eye test hasn’t been quite as good as his numbers suggest.
