Clelin Ferrell

Clelin Ferrell was regarded as a first-round edge defender, but nonetheless, he was certainly a surprise-pick when the Raiders turned in the card for the former Clemson Tiger at No.4 overall. Ferrell started all 16 games while playing both, defensive end and seeing time in the interior alignment at defensive tackle.

His slow start to the season questioned many, but the coaching staff still remains intrigued by his effort in the trenches, being someone who played a vital role in run support last season. As he enters Year No. 2, he will be expected to get after the quarterback more, and has already stated he is going to come back a new man in 2020.

While Josh Allen had the better rookie season, and was the player most of Raider Nation wanted the team to pick at No. 4, Ferrell should be a solid player for years to come. He and Maxx Crosby are a fantastic young tandem on the edges, and helped the Raiders significantly improve their pass rush as rookies.
