Las Vegas Raiders 7-round mock draft after first wave of free agency
With the Raiders only acquiring one wide receiver (Nelson Agholor) up to this point in free agency, that position remains the biggest need as they look to rejuvenate the roster ahead of the 2020 season. The current wide receiver corps contains quality pieces, however, they still lack a game-changing weapon on the outside. Oklahoma’s CeeDee Lamb exhibits everything you look for in a wide receiver one and he very well could be available when it’s the Raiders tun at No.12.
While Lamb doesn’t bring the energetic speed such as Henry Ruggs III, the former Sooner wideout hangs his hat on having elite balls skills and winning the contested catch battle with physicality. Lamb isn’t a one-trick pony as he does numerous things very well but most importantly his run after catch ability makes him the “homerun hitting” threat that so many of his opponents in college struggled to defend.
Since the Arizona Cardinals have traded for DeAndre Hopkins from the Houston Texans, odds are the Raiders will get to handpick their favorite pass catcher. At this point, there’s still no determination which wide receiver Gruden and Mayock prefer, but Lamb has been a coveted option linked to the Raiders since the early stages of the college football season.
