2020 Las Vegas Raiders 53-man roster projection entering summer

Safety (5): Johnathan Abram, Damarious Randall, Jeff Heath, Erik Harris, Dallin Leavitt

The safety group for the Raiders is surrounded by question marks, but this is another group that has the talent to be very special in 2020 and beyond. Former first round pick Johnathan Abram will look to play in his first full season for the Raiders and prove why he was selected in the first round in 2019.

Abram was injured in the team’s Week 1 victory over the Denver Broncos, and was forced to miss the rest of the regular season. Erik Harris will also rejoin the team, and he had a solid season in 2019, leading the team in interceptions and proving to be an emotional leader in the defensive backfield.

The Raiders added Damarious Randall, a player who struggled in coverage in 2019, but has shown potential over the years via free agency. They also added a veteran in Jeff Heath in free agency as well, as the safety is another import from the Dallas Cowboys that the Raiders brought in defensively this offseason.

Lamarcus Joyner also may move to safety this season, depending on whether or not Amik Robertson can come in and take over in the slot. If that happens, this group gets markedly better as well.
