Las Vegas Raiders Rookie Roles: All-Purpose Lynn Bowden Jr.

Why and where he was drafted

Historically a team will discover whether they hit the mark with their first or second-round picks, where generally players taken are expected to make a substantial impact. But those middle-tier rounds are where franchises can find gems and potential game-changers, and that is what the Raiders are hoping they found with Lynn Bowden Jr.

Bowden Jr. was taken with the 80th overall selection in the third round of the 2020 draft. Bowden might have felt he should have been drafted higher, but hindsight is 20/20 and there’s a great chance that he landed exactly where the Raiders wanted him, and that he landed with the right team he was meant to play for.

Going in the third round nothing to dismiss either, and it shows that Las Vegas views him as an important piece for the future of the team. Additionally, landing with the Raiders is proof that Bowden’s versatile skillset is exactly why Las Vegas drafted him in the first place.
