Las Vegas Raiders 53-man 2020 Week 1 roster prediction

Quarterback (3): Derek Carr, Marcus Mariota, Nathan Peterman

The question at the quarterback position will be whether or not the team carries two or three, but the question of who those quarterbacks will be is non-existent. Derek Carr will start the season as the Raiders starting quarterback without question, and Marcus Mariota will be the QB2.

Gruden has shown a ton of support for Carr recently and has been singing his praises about how great of a leader Carr has been. Whether you love him or not, Carr is the starter for this team, and the plan is for him to be the starter all season long.

Mariota has reportedly had on and off days during training camp, but Gruden seems happy with the former Titans signal-caller. One thing that Mariota brings to the table is his elusiveness and quickness, something that Coach Gruden will likely look to bring the best out of Mariota.

If the Raiders carry three quarterbacks, which they likely will, Nathan Peterman will fill that role as another player that Gruden is a fan of and has had fun working with. Peterman played great in the 2019 preseason, and has potential to be a solid QB2, despite what his past results show.
