Las Vegas Raiders fantasy outlook: 2020 Week 1 Sit ‘Em or Start ‘Em

Las Vegas Raiders Defense and Special Teams – Sit Em

The Las Vegas Raiders defense should be much improved after an abysmal 2019 season that saw them finish near the bottom of the league in both fantasy and real life football. They made some big strides with their pass rush but still struggled to consistently generate pressure and recorded just 32 sacks last season.

They struggled even further to generate turnovers and were 31st in the league with just 15 turnovers in 16 games. The unit also gave up the ninth most points and had an especially torrid time defending the pass.

The Carolina offense has gone a major overhaul with a new quarterback, a new head coach, and a new system in place so they make some mistakes, but it is far too early to consider starting this Raiders defense against them. Perhaps if the pass rush starts to get home regularly then it can be considered but Week 1 is far too early to gamble on that.
