4 Saints the Las Vegas Raiders should worry about in Week 2

No. 1: Running Back Alvin Kamara

Tight ends aren’t the only Achilles heel for the Raiders, as running backs who can also catch well have also been a problem.  The defense did a pretty good job in the first half of the Panthers game bottling up Christian McCaffrey in the ground game, but after Nick Kwiatkoski left with a pec injury, and the game went on, he started getting more touches, whether it was a reception or a carry he started getting through the defense easier.

Alvin Kamara is a similar test for the Raiders this week, and while I feel like McCaffrey is the better pure runner out of the two, Kamara catches the ball at an elite level, and is a top-5 back in the league who has shown since his rookie year that he can bust out a big play at anytime. It is going to take a total team effort from the defense in order to keep him in check, or at least limit his big plays.

Fortunately for the Raiders, they can focus their defensive gameplan on Kamara, as Michael Thomas is likely to miss the game due to his ankle injury. Las Vegas has the talent on defense to get stops, as we saw late in the Week 1 victory, but against this Saints offense, it is going to have to be all hands on deck.
