Las Vegas Raiders score 40pts, hand Kansas City Chiefs first loss

Three Stars

Derek Carr

After an early interception brought back memories of his struggles in Arrowhead Stadium, Derek Carr bounced back from his early blunder, and then some. Carr threw for over 300 yards and three touchdowns, including a stellar 72-yard touchdown throw to Las Vegas’ speed threat and first-round selection in this year’s draft in Henry Ruggs III.

Henry Ruggs III

After being inactive the past two weeks, Henry Ruggs III made his return against the Chiefs on Sunday, and immediately his presence on the Raiders offense was felt. Though only targeted twice on the day, Ruggs caught both passes for an incredible 118 receiving yards, with one of those recorded as the first receiving touchdown of his young career.

Raiders defense

32 points from these Chiefs, and you limit Patrick Mahomes to just four pass attempts in a quarter? That’s a win for this defense. There is not stopping Mahomes, you can only hope to contain him, and the Raiders defense managed to do just that. In addition, coming up with a huge interception in the fourth quarter to allow Josh Jacobs to get his second touchdown of the day was significant in the win.
