5 things the Las Vegas Raiders need to work on during bye week

Getting the defense on the same page

One of the biggest issues with the Raiders has been their defense looking confused time and time again. Out of the five games played so far, the only time the Raiders looked in sync was in the second half against the Kansas City Chiefs.

We have watched blown coverages in the red zone, miscommunications on third down, and the defense completely ignore the best player on the opposing offense over and over again this season, so going back, studying the film, and reviewing the playbook will be key during this bye week. The good thing is, they are coming off a game that showed they can compete with anyone if the defense plays the game the right way.

Whether or not Paul Guenther was the reason for the Raiders great defensive play in the second half of the Chiefs game or not, the Raiders need to go back figure out what they did right during that two quarters of play, whether it was playing Jeff Heath, putting the defensive line in positions to develop a pass rush, or if it was just the young team finally putting it together.

They have talent on that side of the ball, now they have to continue to put it all together.
