QB Derek Carr – Start ‘Em

Last week we told you that if Derek Carr could take care of the ball and avoid that fierce pass rush from the Bucs he would have a big day. Carr ended up throwing a tipped interception and was sacked three times but he still managed to have a good day against one of the better defenses in the NFL.

Carr finished the day with 284 yards and two touchdowns, along with 19 yards rushing, and was the 12th ranked QB in standard leagues with 20.26 points. He was on track for another 300-yard day until a pass to Nelson Agholor was tipped and picked which effectively ended the game. After seeing the beating Carr was taking, Jon Gruden opted to have Carr turn and hand the ball off a few times to end the game and not risk hurting his QB.

Next up for Carr is what should be a juicy matchup with 30th ranked pass defense in the NFL. The Browns give up the fifth most fantasy points to QBs and the Raiders will be sure to take advantage of that on Sunday.

The main concern as of now is that the weather could be quite nasty come Sunday morning. Per The Weather Channel, as of Thursday morning, there is a 60% chance of showers with winds in the range of 25-35mph and they could reach up to 40mph. The rain alone would not be a major issue but it will be difficult to throw the ball with the winds swirling at that speed so play meteorologist and keep an eye on the forecast.
