Las Vegas Raiders fantasy: 2020 Week 8 Sit ‘Em or Start ‘Em
Wide Receivers
Henry Ruggs – Start ‘Em
Henry Ruggs had a bust week against Tampa Bay and was targeted just 3 times against that talented secondary. Jon Gruden admitted after the game that he wants to expand Ruggs’ role in the offense but we will have to wait and see how that plays out.
If the weather is as bad as it sounds like it will be, that may eliminate the deep passing game which is Ruggs’ strength but they can still manufacture touches for him via screens or sweeps. Either way he always has the boom potential, especially against a defense giving up the second most points to receivers, so unless you have significantly better options then keep him in your starting lineup.
Bryan Edwards – Sit ‘Em
Bryan Edwards is currently questionable to play for Sunday’s matchup but even if he suits up it’s too soon to tell what his role will be. This is especially the case given Nelson Agholor’s emergence as Derek Carr’s favorite wide receiver target.
Hunter Renfrow – Sit ‘Em
Hunter Renfrow had another decent game in Week 7 in PPR leagues thanks to the four catches for 42 yards that he recorded against Tampa Bay. Renfrow is getting a decent amount of targets week to week and could be a decent plug and play option if you’re hit hard by the bye week.
Nelson Agholor – Start ‘Em
Nelson Agholor had his best game of the season against Tampa Bay as he topped 100 yards for the first time against a very good Bucs defense. Agholor was all over the place for the Raiders and was targeted 9 times, which some argued was too much considering Henry Ruggs was on the field as well.
Agholor had a great touchdown grab to open up the game, his third straight game with a score, and mixed in a few drops which took away from an excellent game but they did not hurt his fantasy performance too much. Keep Agholor in your starting lineup and hopefully the weather won’t be too bad on Sunday so he can keep things rolling.
