The Las Vegas Raiders saw two key defensive players land on the COVID list on Tuesday, and will go into their game against KC likely short-handed.

The Las Vegas Raiders are riding high heading into their Week 11 matchup against the Kansas City Chiefs, this after winning three straight, with two of those victories on the road. The Raiders will battle the Chiefs inside Allegiant Stadium on Sunday night, looking to move to 4-0 in the AFC West, and close the gap between them and the Chiefs.

In order to do so, the Raiders will have to play an elite game on the defensive side of the ball, something they have been able to do in two of their last three games. They have been aided by the play of all three levels of the defense, but against an offense like Kansas City, they cannot afford any mistakes.

if the Raiders plan to move to 7-3 on Sunday night, they need to be able to harass Patrick Mahomes all game long, but they may have to do it without two of their key defensive players.

Joyner and Ferrell land on COVID list

On Tuesday, it was announced that two of the Raiders starters on defense, Lamarcus Joyner and Clelin Ferrell would be placed on the COVID list. Ferrell, which not racking up the sacks, has been outstanding on defense for the Raiders this season, and Joyner has played better in recent weeks.

As a whole, the Raiders defense is finally starting to make some strides, and the loss of Joyner and Ferrell, if they cannot return for Week 11, could be devastating. Las Vegas has had players step up in a big way in on both sides of the ball during the three-game winning streak, and the hope is that they can continue their next-man-up mentality.

Las Vegas already has a win in the books against Kansas City this season, but they were looking to sweep the season series for the first time since 2012. This is a team that can never be counted out, and Joyner and Ferrell could still technically play if they can pass multiple tests this week, so keep checking back in for their status throughout the week.
