4 reasons the Las Vegas Raiders will beat the Indianapolis Colts in Week 14
Philip Rivers will turn the ball over
Overshadowed by the Miracle win against the Jets was how good the defense actually played for a while. Yes, they gave up 28 points to a winless team, but most of that was scored at the end of the third, and beginning of the fourth quarter after Jon Gruden went super conservative in the third quarter after the Raiders got a 14-point lead.
The Raiders’ defense amassed three turnovers in that game, including two strip-sacks by Clelin Ferrell, and an amazing interception by cornerback Trayvon Mullen.
Luckily for the Raiders’ defense, Philip Rivers has been playing against them for a long time, and the past few seasons haven’t been the best for Rivers against the Raiders. In one of their games last year he threw at least six interceptions, three of them were called back due to penalties, and one was returned for a pick-six by safety Erik Harris.
If the Raiders’ defensive line can get even a little bit of pressure on Rivers, it completely changes what Rivers can do with the football in his hands. Rivers is known to take shots and turn the ball over, so for the Raiders to win this one on Sunday, they have to make sure they get enough pressure on him to get him antsy in the pocket.
