Las Vegas Raiders move to 8-6 with a win against Los Angeles

When it comes to these two franchises, any time they get together you can throw out the records and expect a great game. On Thursday night, the Raiders have the luxury of playing on a short week at home, which gives them a bit of an advantage over the Chargers, but this is anyone’s ballgame.

Derek Carr has been playing at a high level all season long, and he will need to continue that trend on Thursday, especially with how bad the defense is playing. He will be without Henry Ruggs III, who has battled through a tough rookie season, and the aforementioned defense will be without four starters, so this is a very thin Raiders roster.

Still, Carr should find time to throw against this Chargers defense behind his offensive line, which is as healthy as it has been all season long. Getting Josh Jacobs involved early will be crucial as well, as they abandoned the run game in their blowout loss to Indianapolis last weekend.

dark. Next. Forget the scenarios, the Las Vegas Raiders need to Just Win Baby

Even though the Raiders are thin on both sides of the ball, I believe they come out on Thursday night and play up to the moment, beating the Chargers narrowly at home. With the win, they keep their thin playoff hopes alive, but it will be time to scoreboard watch on Sunday as we come down the home stretch.

Prediction: Raiders 24, Chargers 21
