Raiders WR Nelson Agholor: Stud

Speaking of players who are setting career highs and entering their primes, Nelson Agholor had another incredible game for the Las Vegas Raiders despite the loss. The 27-year-old receiver had five catches for 155 yards, including the incredible 85-yard touchdown which put the Raiders up 22-16 with under four minutes to go.

Agholor was getting behind the Miami defense all night long, and he did so on one of the biggest plays of the game when he drew a defensive pass interference to get the Raiders down to the Miami 22 with 2:28 to go. He made big plays all over the field and did so against a Dolphins defense that is among the best in the NFL against the pass.

This performance was Agholor’s best of the season and it was his third 100-yard game of the year. Before Tyrell Williams’ injury, it was debated whether he would even make the roster, but here we are in Week 16 where he leads all Raiders receivers not named Darren Waller in receiving yards and touchdowns.

The former Eagle has topped his career-high in yards by 71, matched his career-high in touchdowns with eight this season, and a 1,000-yard season is in reach if he has another huge day in Denver. Were it not for Alex Smith running away with the award, Agholor would be a viable candidate for the Comeback Player of the Year, after leaving Philadelphia in infamy and bouncing back in such dramatic fashion.
