Raiders still cannot get after the quarterback

The Raiders defense was unable to generate sacks consistently, which is disappointing all things considered. Maxx Crosby had a promising rookie year, and Clelin Ferrell showed tremendous growth in the pass rush department, however, between the two sophomores, they only mustered nine sacks per Pro Football Reference.

If the Raiders want to make any sort of splash in 2021, that number will have to significantly increase.

We already that neither Crosby nor Ferrell is going anywhere, but the rest of the EDGE defenders should be replaced. Especially Arden Key, who we can all agree has essentially been a bust. The team’s free agency acquisitions also severely underperformed such as Carl Nassib.

A talent infusion is desperately needed no matter who will be coaching the defense. Luckily for Las Vegas, there are a plethora of EDGE rushers who will be available in the first round.

Gregory Rousseau, Kwity Paye, and Jayson Oweh will surely be there when the Raiders pick. Out of the three positions, an interior defensive lineman should be the priority but a top EDGE prospect would be a tremendous addition as well.
