Raiders could target Shaquil Barrett

A Pro Bowler and Super Bowl champion, Shaquil Barrett emerged as a sack machine in Tampa Bay. In these last two seasons, Barrett has piled up 27.5 sacks, for perspective, the Raiders defense only managed 21 this year as a whole.

Also, ’58’ obliterated opposing offenses with 30 tackles for a loss. PFF rated Barrett’s pash rush at an impressive 75.8 this year as well.

For the Raiders to add this pass-rushing behemoth, it will take some serious cap maneuvering by Mike Mayock and Jon Gruden. Barrett won’t come cheap but if the team’s serious about elevating their defense, they’ll need need to invest heavily.

The concern is that that the 2019 season was more of an aberration for Barrett, yet, his 2020 season would still be an upgrade for the Silver and Black.
