3 free agents the Raiders must re-sign in 2021

Johnathan Hankins

A huge area of concern for the Raiders heading into the 2021 NFL season is upfront along the defensive line, where they have struggled mightily over the past few seasons. Last year, the team mustered only 21 sacks as a unit, including seven coming from Maxx Crosby alone, so changes are coming in 2021.

While change is always good, there are some players along the defensive line the team should bring back, and one of them certainly is Johnathan Hankins. Ever since coming over and putting on the Silver and Black, Hankins has been a constant for this Raiders defensive line, playing well when most of the rest of the unit has struggled.

Las Vegas needs to target defensive tackle in the draft, possibly using a first or second-round pick on the position group. Still, bringing back Hankins to team with Maurice Hurst and David Irving is a great start at defensive tackle heading into free agency and the draft, and Hankins has to be a top priority when it comes to which of the Raiders free agents Mayock is going to bring back in 2021.
