Ranking the Las Vegas Raiders best moves in free agency so far
2. Bring ‘Em Back
To make it work this season in terms of the salary cap, and putting a good product on the field, the Raiders needed some key players to come back, and come back on team-friendly deals. Las Vegas was able to accomplish that with some of their important pieces on both sides of the ball, with Denzelle Good and Richie Incognito returning on offense, and Nicholas Morrow and Johnathan Hankins returning on defense.
Incognito was originally released by the team but came back on a new deal that helps the cap, and in Good returning, the Raiders get some versatility upfront. This is a team that lost both Gabe Jackson and Rodney Hudson to trades this past season, so getting both Incognito and Good back was crucial to their success in front of Derek Carr.
On defense, Morrow was the team’s best linebacker this past season, and while he could have gone elsewhere in free agency, he decided to return to the Silver and Black. While the rest of the group struggled up front along the defensive line, Hankins was as solid as ever, and even though there are a bunch of new faces at defensive tackle, he is going to be key once again.
