2021 7-round NFL Mock Draft lands Las Vegas Raiders a right tackle

With their second of two fifth-round picks, the Raiders turn their attention back to the defensive side of the ball, this time addressing the defensive tackle position. The team has taken some fliers in free agency at the position group this offseason, and do have Maurice Hurst and Johnathan Hankins returning, but why not add some more depth here with their first of two fifth-round picks.

Looking at this position group, there is not a lot of first-round talent coming out this season, but there is certainly a lot of guys across Day 2 and 3 who could make an impact right away. One of those players is Tedarrell Slaton from the University of Florida, a prospect who has the size, and strength to be a real menace at the next level.

In Slaton, the Raiders would be getting a hybrid-type defensive lineman, someone who is big enough to play inside, but who carries himself well enough to come off the edge if need be. Getting pressure is priority No. 1 for Gus Bradley heading into 2021, and with the way he likes to run his defense, having four quality pass rushers upfront will be crucial to the Raiders’ success this season.
