Las Vegas Raiders pre-2021 NFL Draft position review: Wide Receiver

Possible targets and what round to address the position

With the wide receiver group largely set from top to bottom, if the Raiders are going to make any selections at the position it will definitely be in the sixth or seventh round. The Raiders have had success finding production from receivers taken that late such as Chaz Schilens and Brice Butler and maybe looking for another diamond in the rough.

Usually, when a receiver is taken that late in the draft, they have some deficiencies such as a lack of production with incredible physical tools or great production but a lack of top-end athleticism. There are always players like that available in the late rounds and based on the physical makeup of the rest of the Raiders top receivers, they may be looking for a more physical receiver to balance the speed and finesse of the likes of Ruggs, Brown, and Renfrow.

Targets that fit that mold include Tamorrion Terry from Florida State who measures in at 6-4, 209lbs. Terry was reasonably productive and even had a 1,000-yard season in 2019 but injuries hampered him in 2020 and could find him looking for a team on day 3 of the draft.

Two other players that check those same boxes as big receivers with good to moderate production include Jonathan Adams Jr. out of Arkansas State and Austin Watkins out of UAB. Both players are at least 6-3 and have had solid college careers but are raw prospects that will take some major coaching to last in the NFL.
