2021 NFL Draft: Top-5 targets for the Las Vegas Raiders on Day 2

Jevon Holland, S, Oregon

Even though Las Vegas brought back their former 2016 first-round pick Karl Joseph, safety still remains an obvious need for the Raiders. As of right now, it’s not known whether or not they go after a top safety on Day 2, or look to find a diamond in the rough on day three.

If they decide on the former, then Gruden and Mayock should look no further than Jevon Holland, the 6’1 safety out of the University of Oregon.

Now, a lot of people may have forgotten about how talented Holland is, as he opted to not participate in the 2020 college season. Make no mistake, Holland might be the best safety in this class. His standout trait is his leadership, which is shown through his skill in communicating on the field.

There is no doubt that Las Vegas can use an alpha presence on defense that knows how to communicate and command the secondary. Holland has also shown that he can slide down and play in the slot, which is another area of need for Las Vegas. These traits make Holland the perfect versatile weapon for Gus Bradley’s new defense
