2021 NFL Draft: Top-5 targets for the Las Vegas Raiders on Day 2

Jabril Cox, LB, LSU

I know that Las Vegas brought back Nick Morrow, who they have a lot of confidence in. And I know that they are hoping that Cory Littleton can return to form under new defensive coordinator Gus Bradley. But going out and getting LSU linebacker Jabril Cox would be a great move for Vegas.

What makes Cox so special is his ability to play in coverage, which is a rare trait for a linebacker to have. His skill, speed, and size allow him to play well in both man and zone coverage, making him a nightmare for big-body tight ends and slot receivers.

In 2020, Cox finished his breakout season with an impressive three interceptions and five passes defended. Cox also isn’t afraid to come downhill and make a tackle.

If Littleton or Morrow don’t end up panning out in 2021, Bradley and Las Vegas would have Cox in their back pocket, who will have had time to learn the system before stepping into a starting role. Linebacker has been an issue for this franchise for a long time, and Cox could be a long-term play.
