The Las Vegas Raiders got a solid haul in the 2021 NFL Draft, but the party was not over after the final pick was selected.

The Las Vegas Raiders kicked off their 2021 NFL Draft with pick No. 17 overall on Thursday night, causing a stir by selecting Alex Leatherwood from Alabama. Considered a second or third round talent, Leatherwood ended up being the third offensive tackle taken from what is a very deep class at the position group.

From there, the Raiders attacked the defensive side of the ball, spending the next five picks on a defense that was downright atrocious last season. They brought in defensive backs, as well as a hybrid linebacker/safety, and a defensive end, filling major holes on that side of the ball.

Finally, Jeremy Morrissey became the final draft pick, the seventh of the season, a center who was Pitt’s captain last season. In fact, most of the Raiders 2021 draft picks were captains at their schools, as Mike Mayock and Jon Gruden continue to try and stockpile high-character players.

Once the draft was over, it was time to get to task of signing undrafted players.

Here is the complete list of Raiders UDFAs in 2021:

  • Darius Stills, DT, West Virginia
  • Dillon Stoner, WR, Oklahoma State
  • Max Richardson, LB, Boston College
  • Devery Hamilton, OT, Duke
  • Trey Ragas, RB, Louisiana
  • D.J. Turner, WR, Pitt
  • Garrett Groshek, RB, Wisconsin
  • TJ Morrison, DB, Stony Brook

The Raiders finished up the draft with 78 players on the roster, so they can bring in 12 guys as undrafted free agents if they wanted to. Mayock and Gruden did a terrific job bringing in talent over this three-day event, and you have to think that the roster is deeper, and more talented than it was on Wednesday.

Now the fun begins, as the Raiders try to put the final touches on the roster, and get ready to prepare for what should be an exciting 2021 NFL season. There are high expectations this season, especially with fans filling up Allegiant Stadium, so hopefully this is a roster that can finally start winning more than they lose.
