3 cornerbacks the Raiders should target on Day 3 of the 2021 Draft

No. 1: Tay Gowan, UCF

The top cornerback available according to ESPN heading into Day 3 is Tay Gowan, a long, athletic defensive back from UCF. Gowan needs to put on a bit more weight at the next level, but he is an absolute ball hawk, and would be a guy who pushes for a starting job in this Raiders secondary on Day 1.

Last year, Las Vegas used a first round pick on Damon Arnette, but the jury is still out as to whether or not he will be a starter moving forward. They have a talented CB1 in Trayvon Mullen, and some young and unproven players like Isaiah Johnson, but a player like Gowan would give this entire position group a real shot in the arm with his talent and passion for the game.

After adding two safeties on Friday, getting one, and possibly two cornerbacks could be the way to go for the Raiders on Day 3. Las Vegas has made a concerted effort to bolster the defense during the 2021 NFL Draft, and adding one of these three cornerbacks will go a long way in improving Gus Bradley’s secondary.
