Las Vegas Raiders: 2021 Post-draft 53 man roster prediction
Wide Receivers: Henry Ruggs III, John Brown, Bryan Edwards, Hunter Renfrow, Willie Snead, Zay Jones
Last year, the Raiders carried five receivers and four tight ends to accommodate veteran Jason Witten but this year we predict they roll with a full complement of six wideouts. They have a nice mix of veteran savvy in John Brown and Willie Snead and youthful exuberance and talent in Henry Ruggs and Bryan Edwards.
We are expecting big things from the second-year duo and hopefully, a full offseason of workouts and camps will lead to more success on the field. Both of the rookies had similar seasons in which they showed promise but were hampered by both injuries and COVID-related issues.
Zay Jones is a candidate for possible release but the team just has him a fully guaranteed one-year $2.5 million contract to keep him in town. Jones has not had a very productive tenure with the Raiders, but he is very familiar with the offensive system and provides a solid security blanket in case of injury.
The next four names currently on the roster are Keelan Doss, Marcell Ateman, Trey Quinn, and Dillon Stoner. Aiman and Doss are the likely practice squad candidates since they have a few years of experience under Gruden. Trey Quinn is the obvious cut candidate, and Dillon Stoner has an outside chance of making the roster as a return man.
He excelled at this in college and could step into the role to protect Hunter Renfrow who took some brutal hits as a returner last year.
