3 departures the Las Vegas Raiders will miss the most in 2021
Nelson Agholor
Prior to the 2020 NFL season, the Raiders made a play for Nelson Agholor, bringing him in on a one-year, prove-it contract. In hindsight, they may have been better served to give him a better contract from the jump, as Agholor came out of nowhere to have a breakout season in Las Vegas, earning a monster contract in New England.
With Agholor gone, the Raiders will now turn their focus to two groups of wide receivers, one being the second-year tandem of Henry Ruggs III and Bryan Edwards, and the other being veterans like Hunter Renfrow, John Brown, and Willie Snead. While this is a soldi collection of talent, the loss of Agholor is going to loom large if Ruggs and Edwards struggle, and Derek Carr cannot find a rapport with the veterans.
Sure, we know Renfrow is going to be automatic on third down, and the young players have the talent to be special, but will it all come together. Brown is a guy who is a proven commodity in the league, and Snead has big-play ability, but replacing what Agholor gave this Raiders team in 2020 is not going to be an easy task.
