Las Vegas Raiders: 3 bold predictions for Derek Carr in 2021
Wins his first NFL Playoff game
Last season, Carr led one of the better offenses in the NFL, as they finished within the top-10, and put up 30-or-more points in eight of their 16 games. The problem with the 2020 Raiders was the defense, which finished in the bottom-3 in the league, and just could not get stops consistently.
In 2021, the hope is that a new defensive coordinator and a bunch of new talent on defense can fix those problems, giving the Raiders a more balanced team on both sides of the ball. If that is the case, the Silver and Black should certainly be in the mix for a playoff berth, allowing Carr to win his first playoff game.
If the Raiders do make the playoffs, it will likely be as a Wild Card, as they will have a very tough time passing the Kansas City Chiefs in the AFC West. Anything can happen on Wild Card Weekend, and in Carr, they have a veteran signal-caller who has been clutch down the stretch in the past.
Overall, this has the potential to be a big season from Carr, who is still looking to quiet those doubters who feel he is not the answer at quarterback for the long run. He has played outstanding football under Jon Gruden, and in 2021, he could be in for what should be his best season yet.
