Las Vegas Raiders: 3 reasons K.J. Wright will be a perfect fit

He is still a talented player

We have seen the Raiders bring in veteran linebackers past their prime far too often, including guys like Vontaze Burfict and Brandon Marshall in recent years. In K.J. Wright, they are not only getting a player who still has years left in the tank but one that played at a very high level for the Seahawks last season.

Even at his age, Wright replaces intelligence over athleticism at this point in his career, and you should look no further than 2020 to see this, as Wright had double-digit pass deflections, while also having 11 tackles for loss. Wright was even named as the 67th best player in this year’s NFL top-100 while not even being on a roster, which goes to show the respect and talent that Wright displays is well known around the league.

Wright will bolster this linebacking unit immediately, and the sooner he hits the field, the sooner the Raiders defense will become a much stronger component. If you are a Raiders fan, you should be thrilled at this latest acquisition.
