Peyton Barber

When Barber was signed off of the Washington practice squad before week 1, he was seen as a placeholder until Richard returned. However, with Jacobs and Richard’s health in question and the productive game he had against Miami, his roster spot is likely locked in.

More than likely, Barber will be relegated to a backup role, possibly even inactive, with the other 3 backs ahead of him on the depth chart. Barber is the direct backup to Jacobs as a bell cow and will take over again if Jacobs gets hurt.

Barber was mostly ineffective until the offensive line started playing better, but he’s an average NFL back who doesn’t add much to the offense. Jacobs is a star back with a lot of talent who makes the team better. Barber is fine, but Jacobs can propel this team to new heights.
