2021 AFC West roundup, Week 7: Raiders roll over Eagles

Denver Broncos

The Denver Broncos lost 17-14 to the Cleveland Browns, who were going into the game with a  backup quarterback and third-string running back. Cleveland had been dealing with a multitude of injuries and was even banged up at wide receiver, as Jarvis Landry had just come off the IR.

Needless to say, the Broncos are in trouble after starting out the season 3-0 they have lost four straight games and sit tied with the Kansas City Chiefs at the bottom of the division with a 3-4 record.

On Thursday night, the Broncos could get nothing going on offense against a ferocious Browns defense.  Teddy Bridgewater, who came into the game a little bit banged up, could not get anything going downfield, as he only completed one pass over 20+ yards, a 31-yard pass to Courtland Sutton.

Bridgewater finished the game with 187 yards two touchdowns and an interception.  The running game wasn’t good to them either on the offensive or defensive side.  Promising rookie Javonte Williams and Melvin Gordon combined for a total of 38 yards on 12 carries while on the other side of the ball D’ernest Johnson ran all over the Broncos’ defense rushing for a total of 146 yards on 22 carries.

The Broncos look to end their losing streak against a similarly struggling team in the Washington Football Team.
