Las Vegas Raiders at New York Giants: 3 bold predictions in Week 9
Zay Jones has a Breakout Game
With the absence of Henry Ruggs, other wide receivers will need to step up. Bryan Edwards and Hunter Renfrow have had solid seasons so far, but Zay Jones has been a bit quieter. Sure, he had the walk-off touchdown against the Baltimore Ravens and had a great catch only two weeks ago. But Jones has yet to have a breakout game, and now would be a perfect time.
Jones is being asked to fill the void left by Ruggs. According to Carr, the coaches, and some Las Vegas beat reporters, Jones is one of the hardest-working players on the team. He is constantly at the facility and constantly working with Carr to become a better receiver. He’s getting a shot to show off that hard work now that he is filling the void left by Ruggs.
With everything going on in the organization, it is easy to lose faith, but at 5-2, the Raiders still have a great chance to win the AFC West.
Even though the Giants secondary is talented, Jones is primed to have the first breakout game of his career. In this expanded role, Jones has the potential to go over 75 yards receiving and score a touchdown. If he can attack with that type of efficiency, then he’ll be a major reason why Las Vegas finds success on Sunday.
