Las Vegas Raiders: 3 players who should be one-and-done with franchise
K.J. Wright
When he was signed, K.J. Wright was seen as an enforcer for this Raiders defense, a unit that has suffered some injuries during the summer, and needed reinforcements. While fellow veteran Denzel Perryman, another 2021 free agent signing, has done a tremendous job this season, Wright has been an afterthought.
Coming over from Seattle after an incredible career there, Wright was supposed to join Perryman in the middle of this Raiders defense and provide leadership and productive play. While he has provided the leadership, his play on the field has been below average, and at times, you can forget he is even on the team.
If the Raiders’ defense is to turn the corner, Wright needs to play better, as the unit as a whole looked absolutely lost against Kansas City last weekend in primetime. Either way, Wright is not a part of the long-term solution in Las Vegas and should be one-and-done after the 2021 season wraps up.
