Las Vegas Raiders at Kansas City Chiefs: 3 Raiders to watch in Week 14

Derek Carr, Quarterback

Can you write an article discussing Raider players and not bring up Derek Carr? To be honest, this would be nearly impossible. The reason isn’t just “fun” in terms of writing about the most polarizing player in possibly all of Raiders history, but it just shows how vital the captain is to this franchise.

The quarterback will need to be at his utter best for the Raiders to even sniff victory in this one. The Raiders were able to pull off a victory last year in Arrowhead in a shootout in which Carr shined, and he will likely need to repeat this performance for the Raiders to have a chance, especially considering the Raiders defense has been suspect to allowing opposing quarterback Pat Mahomes to shred them over and over for years.

The running game of the Raiders has been non-existent this year and now is a man down with Kenyan Drake, as mentioned above, out for the season. We discussed already this week how important Carr will be in this matchup for the Raiders to have a chance, but he will be needed more than ever in this contest.

Hopefully, Carr can return to his early-season form or even his Thanksgiving Day masterpiece for that matter, but whatever the case, Carr will be the most vital piece in what will either be a shocking Raider victory or another disappointing loss.
