Las Vegas Raiders need to make Davante Adams priority No. 1

A true No. 1 wideout for years to come

It feels as though Las Vegas hasn’t had a long-lasting number one receiving threat in years. And really, that’s because they haven’t. Sure, they had Cooper and Crabtree, but Cooper was eventually traded to Dallas after struggling with drops, and Crabtree was eventually released after declining in 2017.

Then, in 2021, the team obviously lost Ruggs.

Now, the team does have good options as pass-catchers. Darren Waller and Hunter Renfrow are incredible options, and Zay Jones certainly stepped up in the latter half of the season. But Waller is a tight end and Renfrow is a slot, with the two finding the most success in the middle of the field. As for Jones, he is talented but doesn’t possess the abilities of a true number one receiver, and functions better as a number two.

What Las Vegas needs is a receiver who can stretch the field and work the sideline when lined up on the outside. That’s exactly what Adams can do. And if Las Vegas signs him, it’ll likely be a deal that’s four years or more. So, Mark Davis would have his No. 1 receiver for a real long time.
